How Muslim-led Charity Organizations Create Real Impact

What is the importance of community? What makes certain communities so strong that they are able to take care of issues across the world? 

When we think about wanting to help people around the world who are suffering crisis after crisis, we tend to think in a global perspective first. We think about ways we can give aid and shelter to those affected by calamities; but how does one even start?

With such a global goal set in mind, the only way is to start locally. Having a strong, well-built foundation in your community allows you to achieve goals you didn’t think were possible. Having a strong community means you have a strong support system and people who show they genuinely care about what you believe in.

Hasana is a prime example of what strengthening one’s community does to a global perspective. What started as an initiative to bring muslims together through local events at masajids became even bigger as groups of individuals from different communities met and caused Hasana to grow to what it is today.

Hasana’s motto is to “Empower Locally, Uplift Globally.” Hasana has done educational events, youth events, community service events, and fundraisers to inform communities about the work that needs to be done in places such as Palestine and Lebanon. These events have brought people together to work for being a voice of change. As a result, they have helped those in need in the most devastated areas of the region. They were even able to send goodie bags to children during Eid time and provide them with proper meals for Eid.

As Hasana continues to grow, more aid is being sent, more goals are being met to help those affected by disasters, more communities are learning what it means to bring change. With the right intentions and with the right mindset, anyone can make change in a global perspective.
